A coach that rewrites your plan every time you train.

PulseAI builds a four-week programme around your body, goal, training space and the equipment you actually own. Log a set, photograph a plate, tap “too easy” — and the next block adapts. All for less than one gym session a month.

The loop

Six steps that feed each other, forever.

Most apps stop at handing you a plan. PulseAI treats the plan as the first draft — everything you do afterwards is an input to the next one.

01

Profile

Nine typed steps, about two minutes: goal, training space, equipment, activity level, medical history, body stats.

02

Plan

A four-week programme generated against your BMR, TDEE and macro split — and hard-constrained to the equipment you have.

03

Train

One tap per set. Animated form guides, target reps and load, a rest timer, and your watch tracking heart rate on the wrist.

04

Log

Photograph the plate. Weight, water and body weight take a tap each. If tracking costs effort, people stop tracking.

05

Analyse

Weekly volume in tons, caloric balance, intensity, hydration. Nothing is shown that hasn't actually been measured.

06

Adapt

Every logged set and every “that felt too easy” tap calibrates the next block. The plan is never the one you started with.

Training

A plan that can't prescribe a cable machine to someone with two dumbbells.

Your equipment list is a hard constraint on generation, not a preference. Every movement resolves against a master exercise library with target muscles, coaching cues and an animated form guide — so you always know what the lift should look like.

  • Set-by-set logging

Weight and reps in one tap each, with a rest timer and the form animation on screen while you work.

  • “How it felt” calibration

Five levels, not a 1–10 RPE scale — anything finer would be guessed rather than known. It tunes the next block's load.

  • Your history survives regeneration

Logs are decoupled from the plan they were logged against. Regenerate as often as you like; nothing you lifted disappears.

Photograph the plate. That's the whole interaction.

A vision model identifies the dish and its component items with estimated grams, then each item is resolved against a local mirror of the USDA FoodData Central database for real per-100g macros. You review and correct before anything is saved.

  • Honest about its sources

Every item is flagged USDA-matched or estimated, so you can see exactly which numbers are measured and which are inferred.

  • Targets from your own maths

BMR via Mifflin–St Jeor, TDEE from your activity level, then a goal-specific calorie adjustment and protein/carb/fat split.

  • Water and weight too

Hydration in millilitres, one body-weight measurement a day — re-logging corrects rather than duplicates, so the trend line stays real.

Insights

Numbers you actually measured — and nothing you didn't.

Your week aggregated into training volume in tons with a week-over-week delta, caloric balance, training intensity with its peak day, macro targets and hydration. Every field is nullable by design: with no logs or an incomplete profile, the card hides itself rather than inventing a figure.

  • Week-over-week, not vanity totals

Volume is shown against last week's, so the number means something on the second week rather than the fiftieth.

  • Severity-tagged advice

AI guidance arrives graded critical, warning or ordinary, coloured accordingly, and cached so revisiting the screen is instant.

  • Wearable-aware

Heart-rate and calorie figures come from the Apple Watch or Wear OS session when you trained with one on.

Arena

Train against your friends, not an abstract streak.

Time-boxed challenges with a live leaderboard, scored on whatever you agree matters — workout count, volume, total reps, calories logged, water intake, or a free-form metric with your own unit label.

  • Sum, count, average, max or min

Pick the aggregation to match the contest. A volume war and a most-consistent-week race are both one setup away.

  • Invite or share a code

Search a user directly, or hand out a join code. Challenges run upcoming → active → ended with per-participant rank tracking.

  • Nudges that respect your evening

An “ending soon” push, plus six toggleable scheduled categories — all silenced inside your quiet-hours window.

And the rest

The details that decide whether you keep using it

Adherence is the whole game. Most of what follows exists because the alternative was a reason to stop opening the app.

Start the session from your wrist

Companion apps for Wear OS and watchOS track the session on the watch and bridge live heart rate back to the phone. Sessions record their source, so a phone-tracked workout and a watch-tracked one stay distinguishable in your history.

Reminders with a mute button

Motivation, hydration, meal logs, workouts, streak risk and a Sunday recap — six categories, each individually toggleable, all obeying your quiet hours.

Body weight as a trend

One measurement per day, kept as history behind your profile weight, so the chart shows a direction rather than today's number.

Email and password, Google or Facebook, with verified addresses, short-lived access tokens and rotating refresh tokens under the hood.

AI as a swappable part

Plan generation, meal analysis and advice all call one provider interface — Gemini and OpenAI are interchangeable behind it, and neither is baked into the product.

Generation you don't wait on

Building a plan is queued, not blocking. You get the app back immediately and a push when it's ready — and a sweeper retries any job that stalls.

Boring where it counts

Helmet, a strict validation pipe, global rate limiting, structured logging, Sentry and Crashlytics on both clients. None of it is a feature; all of it is why the app stays up.

Questions

Before you download it

Who is PulseAI actually for?

Beginners and returning lifters — the person who has decided to train but doesn't know what to do on the gym floor, how heavy to go, or how much to eat. Generic apps hand that person a static plan; real coaching costs hundreds a month. PulseAI sits in between.

What if I train at home with almost no equipment?

Then the plan is built from what you have. You pick GYM, HOME or HYBRID plus your equipment during onboarding, and that list constrains which exercises can be selected at all. If the filter leaves too few movements to build varied training, the pool widens rather than repeating the same three lifts.

How accurate is the meal photo scan?

The model identifies the dish and its items with estimated portions; each item is then matched against a local mirror of USDA FoodData Central for real per-100g macros, falling back to the model's estimate only when there's no match. Every item is labelled with which of the two it used, and you can correct the breakdown before saving.

Do I lose my training history if I regenerate the plan?

No. Logs are deliberately stored independently of the exercise rows they were logged against, with the exercise name denormalised onto the log. Regenerating replaces the plan, never the record of what you lifted.

Is there a free tier, or just a trial?

Both. The free tier is permanent and includes one generated plan plus a monthly allowance of AI features. Separately, you can take a one-time seven-day Pro trial that needs no card.

Do I need a smartwatch?

No — the phone tracks everything on its own. If you have an Apple Watch or a Wear OS watch, the companion app starts and tracks sessions from the wrist and adds live heart rate, average and max BPM and calorie burn to the session record.

Will it spam me with notifications?

Only if you ask it to. Six scheduled categories exist — motivation, hydration, meal logs, workouts, streak risk and a weekly recap — each toggled individually, and all of them respect a quiet-hours window you set.
